Jake Bloom, un legendario abogado de Hollywood con una impresionante lista de clientes célebres que incluyen a Arnold Schwarzenegger y Johnny Depp, falleció el mes pasado a los 81 años, por causas naturales, en Sun Valley, Idaho. El jueves pasado, Schwarzenegger relató en un acto en memoria a su amigo y abogado cómo, gracias a su influencia, llegó a superar los años de rivalidad con Stallone.
Según relató el exgobernador de California, cuando se enteró de que Bloom había aceptado como cliente al guionista y protagonista de Rocky se lo tomó muy mal, dado que ambos eran muy competitivos y se comparaban en todos los aspectos, desde el tamaño de sus músculos hasta sus salarios. Ese malestar incrementó aún más en 1991, cuando el abogado invitó a Stallone a formar parte del equipo que invertiría en un emprendimiento de Nueva York del que ya participaban Schwarzenegger y otro héroe del cine de acción: Bruce Willis.
Planet Hollywood fue el único restaurante de famosos que entró en quiebra dos veces, representó uno de las inversiones más icónicas de los actores de la década de 1990, fue un hito durante la Argentina menemista y, además, fue el motivo por el que Schwarzenegger y Stallone dejaron atrás los prejuicios y comenzaron a conversar, hasta convertirse en auténticos amigos. Bloom fue quien convenció al austríaco de que lo mejor para el negocio sería que el ítaloamericano se quedara con una parte de las ganancias.

Hace casi un año, el icónico actor de Rambo, Rocky y Cobra, Sylvester Stallone, confirmó la teoría del resentimiento mutuo entre las leyendas del cine de acción, basado en una competencia feroz. “Realmente nos desagradamos muchísimo porque éramos… esto puede sonar un poco vanidoso, pero creo que éramos pioneros en un tipo de género de cine en ese momento que no se ha vuelto a ver desde entonces», relató Stallone en una entrevista con la revista Forbes.
Luego agregó: “Entonces la competencia, porque es su naturaleza, él es muy competitivo y yo también… y pensé que en realidad ayudó, pero fuera de la pantalla todavía éramos competitivos y eso no era algo saludable en absoluto, pero nos hemos convertido en muy buenos amigos”, afirmó.

En su cuenta de Instagram, publicó un video en el que se veía una imagen autografiada del joven fisicoculturista que protagonizó Conan el Bárbaro, Terminator, Comando y Depredador, para luego enfocarse a sí mismo, entrenando. “Voy por vos, Arnold”, amenaza Stallone, antes de golpearse en el rostro y simular un desmayo “à la Rocky Balboa”. El texto que acompañó el video fue: “Nada como un poquito de sana competencia”.
